Build-a-Word large print cards and magnets will provide children with the keys they need to crack the alphabetic code. They can practice blending and segmenting with our Onset and Rime set. With this two page set, your child can build over 500 decodable words. Expand the word family repertoire by adding 63 Extra Rimes and a set of common Word Endings. For older children, we offer a variety of manipulatives designed to encourage word structure analysis. Your child can build over 2000 English words using a set of 48 common Latin and Greek prefixes, 62 roots, and 48 suffixes. More importantly, children can begin to see the relationships among words, which will improve their reading comprehension and spelling proficiency. We offer an Extra Affixes card with less common, but just as important, prefixes and suffixes. Through their work, students will also become active users of the dictionary and thesaurus, two resources sometimes forgotten by children, teachers, and parents.
